Weekly Photo Challenge: Focus

The photos below were taken on a beach in Cornwall a few weeks ago.  I was focusing on the texture at the time but I think these go well with this weeks photo challenge theme

Same fence… different post!

I love the texture that the elements have etched and carved into the wood over the years

Very unique fence. The texture really brightens up the wood 😉

The color and texture in these is outstanding, and that last one in particular is very well composed with a great use of depth of field.

Love that you took these various shots just to take them, not because of the challenge (though nice that these fit into it). I love to experiment with different focal ranges and effects for the same shot. Mostly it’s because I’m learning, not because I necessarily understand what the result will be each time 🙂

Quotes that speak to my soul…

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.
What you have caught on film is captured forever...
it remembers little things,
long after you have forgotten everything." - Aaron Siskind

"You become things, you become an atmosphere, and if you become it, which means you incorporate it within you, you can also give it back. You can put this feeling into a picture. A painter can do it. And a musician can do it and I think a photographer can do that too and that I would call the dreaming with open eyes." - Ernst Haas

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by Dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
- Steve Jobs

“To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.”
- Henri Cartier-Bresson

“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.”
― Henri Cartier-Bresson

“Above all, life for a photographer cannot be a matter of indifference”
― Robert Frank
