I love plants but I’m useless at keeping them alive! My daughter bought me an amazing Orchid which I have affectionately (and in the interest of positivity) called ‘Possibility’ 🙂 I thought I would take some photographs of Possibilities amazing blooms because they are ‘fleeting’ and if my luck hasn’t changed, I may never see them again!
So beautiful… at least if Possibility never blooms again (and I so hope she does) I will have captured them forever here.

Such a beautiful orchid. Love how you’re trying different perspectives.

Thanks… I just hope it survives! I’ve only ever managed to nurture one plant, it was already on it’s last legs when I bought it so I figured I couldn’t do it any more damage and it’s actually thriving… I’m so happy! 🙂

Great pics! Hope they continue to bloom. I’m not good with plants either but I know that orchid grow better if there’s lot of sunshine :).

Thanks I hope so too, it would be such a shame otherwise but I’m determined to nurture this one! 🙂

Lots of patience is required with orchids. Sufficient knowledge too. Your Possibility is a magnificent Phalaenopsis! your pictures too. Google “Phalaenopsis care” to find its requirements. After all the blooms are gone, it becomes dormant.
At that time if you have a bathroom with windows keep it in there. But read about it. It is worth learning how to do it. You would not expect to make great coconut triple-layer cake by invention, would you? you’d follow the recipe… same with orchids. Hers’a project for you. They need tending even more than roses, but they calmly bloom only once or twice a year… they are zen…

Ciao! Thank you so much for the wonderful tips. You are so right, I would definitely not attempt to cook a coconut triple-layer cake without following a recipe! Now that I know Possibilities ‘official’ name I will look up her care recipe… ‘they are zen’… I love that! 🙂

All of your photography is amazing! These orchid pictures are my favorites well and the ones of Mutly. You are an artist, and I’m glad you found my blog, so I discovered yours.

An egg cup? You said thimble before… so which is it? 😉 This could be a matter of life and death for Possibility! 😦

Beautiful. I’d love to grow orchids, but totally lack any green pigment in my fingers. I have to settle for visiting orchid houses and photographing.

I totally know where you’re coming from! So do I! I am hoping to break my, not too good, track record with plants this time and Possibility will thrive… positive vibes… positive vibes… 😀
