Magical indeed, the way you capture the little details that make time spent in nature so vitalising and good for the soul 🙂 Looking forward to more, pretty good for an amateur!!

I’m re-blogging this post from ‘The Amateur Camera’, because this modest lady has just taken the plunge to finally start sharing her lovely photography.
These photos evoke that revitalising peace that stills the mind and soul when spending time in nature. Something I sorely miss as a Londoner!
Show some support to a new WordPresser and head over to check out her new blog 🙂

Beautiful photos! I love the mossy riverside one, I was almost expecting a hobbit to jump out from behind a tree 😉 You’ve made me feel all nostalgic for home now – I’m from Cornwall…. I don’t even have any chocolate hobnobs to fall back on for comfort… snif!

Thanks! Lucky you, coming from Cornwall! I love it there and use to go every year with the children when they were little. My daughter ‘gradabout’ has recently finished uni in Falmouth and loved living there. I haven’t had a chocolate hobnob for ages…! 🙂

Quotes that speak to my soul…

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving.
What you have caught on film is captured forever...
it remembers little things,
long after you have forgotten everything." - Aaron Siskind

"You become things, you become an atmosphere, and if you become it, which means you incorporate it within you, you can also give it back. You can put this feeling into a picture. A painter can do it. And a musician can do it and I think a photographer can do that too and that I would call the dreaming with open eyes." - Ernst Haas

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by Dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
- Steve Jobs

“To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.”
- Henri Cartier-Bresson

“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.”
― Henri Cartier-Bresson

“Above all, life for a photographer cannot be a matter of indifference”
― Robert Frank
